The short answer: a 12×12ft floor suits up to about 80 guests, and a 16×16ft floor about 110 to 150. For bigger parties, go 18×18ft or 20×20ft.
Dance floor size by guest numbers
| Floor size | Area | Guests (rough guide) | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 12×12ft | 144 sq ft | Up to about 80 | £450 |
| 14×14ft | 196 sq ft | About 80 to 110 | £500 |
| 16×16ft | 256 sq ft | About 110 to 150 | £550 |
| 18×18ft | 324 sq ft | About 150 to 190 | £600 |
| 20×20ft | 400 sq ft | 190 and up | £650 |
These numbers assume not everyone dances at once, which is true of almost every party. If your crowd loves to dance, go up a size.
